LG’s G6 Smartphone To Feature A Taller Display With A Unique Aspect Ratio

LG’s upcoming G6 flagship smartphone will feature a 5.7-inch display with a 18:9 aspect ratio, taller than the typical 16:9 aspect ratio of other smartphones.
The company’s display division released new technical information about the flagship’s screen, including a Quad HD+ 2880×1440 resolution with a sharp 564 pixels per inch.
A smaller bezel can be expected on the G6 thanks to a 20 per cent reduction in bezel width on the top of the new display and a 10 per cent reduction along the sides. LG also claims the display will use 30 per cent less battery and will be 10 per cent more visible when used outdoors, but no details were provided as to what the new display was compared to.
LG is expected to announce the G6 in late February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, with a rumoured release date of March 10 in South Korea. Rumours also indicate Samsung may announce the Galaxy S8 at Mobile World Congress with a later release date of mid-April.
